Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) initiation is characterized by the sequential stepwise accumulation of molecular alterations. However, the earliest events during the dynamic temporal trend of hepatocarcinogenesis are still unknown. Using a diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-induced rat HCC model, we report a comprehensive transcriptomic landscape of liver tissues at the stages of hepatitis, cirrhosis, and HCC. Overall design: To profile the expression landscape in rat HCC model, we performed microarray expression profiling on 9 liver tissues and 3 HCC tissue, including 3 from normal mock group, 3 from liver hepatitis group (LH), 3 from liver cirrhosis group (LC), and 3 from HCC group.
