Deaths by Cause in Barranquilla, Colombia, 2007-2022

This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/. This dataset contains registered deaths of a persons residing in the municipal area of Barranquilla. The data were downloaded from the national health database plattform (SIVIGILA). The downloaded data were not validated or verified independently. Not all possible causes of death are included in the original dataset. The following preprocessing errors were identified: (1) Duplicate records, these were removed, (2) records with age value outside of a valid range, these were removed, (3) records with unidentified cause of death, these were removed.
