资源简介:
Adjectives are very important to the structure and meaning of a language because they give important information about nouns and how they are judged. The study of the functional and semantic differences between adjectives looks at their syntactic positions, morphological variations, and subtle differences in meaning that change depending on the context. Adjectives are used to qualify, specify, or change nouns by showing things like quantity, quality, relation, or evaluation. Adjectives can mean things like gradability, polarity, evaluative or emotive meaning, and relational attributes, which can change depending on the culture or situation. To accurately interpret, translate, and communicate, it is important to know the functional and semantic aspects of adjectives. This is because it lets speakers and learners make small differences and precise meanings. Also, studying the meaning of adjectives helps with other areas of linguistics, such as syntax, morphology, and the lexicon, and it helps with comparing languages. This study shows how form, meaning, and usage all work together, showing how important adjectives are for both understanding and using language.
