Brain and Mind Research Institute Patient Research Register

The Brain & Mind Research Institute (BMRI) works in collaboration with the Headspace initiative with the joint aims of providing treatment to young people who are suffering from mental illnesses and furthering knowledge of such illnesses within, and best treatment practices for this cohort. The present project aims to utilise the contact that exists between young people with mental health problems and BMRI clinics in order to establish the BMRI Patient Research Register (BPRR). The BPRR is envisaged to be an important means of creating opportunities for patients attending BMRI clinics to participate in the research process through either or both: (i) permitting the use of their coded clinical data for research purposes; (ii) permitting contact to be made to them by researchers who are conducting ongoing research studies with relevance to the patients’ diagnoses
