We systematically studied the limit of detection of confocal Raman spectroscopy using polystyrene particles in a range of 25-1000 nm as models for sizes of viruses, viral particles and aggregates. Our results demonstrated that Raman spectroscopy can detect particles as small as 50 nm at a limit of detection of 1.80 x 10^12 - 8.31 x 10^12 particle/mL, and for the largest size of 1000 nm, 5.11 x 10^8 - 2.53 x 10^9 particle/mL. In this dataset, we have included the raw and processed data files associated with the results of this manuscript.
