George Smith was the Governor of Goulburn Prison until his retirement in June 1938. This series consists of four bundles of personal files relating to him. The information contained in the bundles includes correspondence and applications regarding leave, retirement and transfer and promotions; reports of inquiry by the public service on the suspension of Smith from duty at various periods of his employment in prisons; his reports as Governor; Warden's Defaulter Sheets while Warden; and newspaper clippings.(10/31733-34). 2 boxes.
