Impact of E-waste on Mother Nature, humans and animals-. E-waste Challenges in India

With the arrival of new and advanced electronic gadgets, this has become a serious issue for electronic waste. Home appliances and many other gazettes are the copious electronic waste just because of huge variety available in the market. Moreover, they are often disposed of as there are many new models and gadgets which have been introduced in the market with new and advanced features. However, the older ones may prove harmful for humans, Mother Nature and animals. Mostly the environment and health problems are caused by uncontrolled burning and jumbled disposal of electronic items. The waste from electronic items consists of Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), lead, cadmium and mercury which are some of the harmful chemicals. These are not just toxic but the chemicals like PCBs have also been known for causing cancer. When they are not dumped properly, they can taint soil and water and may enter the food chain. Likewise, toxic fumes also rose when waste materials are burned which depletes the ozone layer and also causes many health hazards when people inhale these.
