资源简介:
**OVERVIEW**
With the importance of equity, inclusion, diversity and belonging taking center stage in the national debate on healthcare, HealthVerity realized our real-world data (RWD) ecosystem is ideally suited to respond to the challenge. The HealthVerity Provider Diversity and Diagnosis Index (PDI+) is the only nationally syndicated report that leverages medical, pharmacy and consumer data to compute the racial diversity of patients for over 2 million physicians, all in a HIPAA-compliant manner. The PDI+ has become the definitive guide for a wide range of diversity-challenged endeavors, such as clinical trial investigator recruiting and health plan network building.
**USE CASES**
**Clinical trial site selection**
In 2022, Congress directed the FDA to require a written diversity action plan for clinical trial programs. What followed was an FDA draft guidance on incorporating diverse populations into clinical trials, which includes requirements for increasing demographic and geographic diversity in trials. PDI+ directly addresses this guidance by allowing its users to quickly and easily identify providers that treat patients of a diverse race, sex and age composition. PDI+ offers provider-level data on nearly half of all providers in the United States to offer an extensive view into ideal investigators for a clinical trial.
**Commercial provider targeting/segmentation**
PDI+ can help commercial teams to build provider target lists for alignment and segmentation. Not only does PDI+ offer extensive coverage of the nation’s providers, it contains the most granular patient information available on the market. With exact counts of patients by age, race, sex and any combination of those factors, drug manufacturers can easily identify providers for targeting drugs with specific indications. PDI+ also offers a reliable count of the number of patients a provider sees to better understand the reach and coverage of market segments.
**Provider network building**
Patients of racial and ethnic minorities may struggle to access doctors, even with insurance coverage, leading to worse chronic disease outcomes and complications. Common barriers include distance to an in-network provider, variety of providers and provider trust. PDI+ can help address these barriers by offering robust geographic and demographic information to ensure that a provider network includes options that adequately cater to minority groups’ needs. Incorporating providers from socioeconomically disadvantaged localities and/or providers with significant coverage of minority groups can bolster a provider network’s ability to break down barriers to care.
**Product details**
PDI+ is a pre-aggregated report that contains information on the provider and the patients they see. Provider-specific information includes: NPI, sex, practice city, practice state, practice postal, specialty, and total patients with an encounter in the time period (regardless of capture of patient race; may include patients not counted in row-level counts). Patient-specific information includes: race, sex, age, pay type, income, diagnosis code
PDI+ includes 5 of the largest medical claims sources in the HealthVerity Data Ecosystem, one pharmacy claims source, and one consumer source. Combined, these sources offer extensive coverage of the nation’s providers and the patients that they treat. PDI+ is a pre-aggregated report, meaning it contains no transactional data. Aggregation allows PDI+ to deliver powerful insights while remaining HIPAA compliant.
PDI+ contains 3 separate tables with provider diversity data:
- No diagnosis codes (pdi_plus)
- Full diagnosis codes (pdi_plus_dx)
- 3 digit diagnosis codes (pdi_plus_3dx)
**Additional Insights**
This is only a sample dataset for PDI+ representing a small portion of the volume of Real-world Data that is available in this Data Product. This sample dataset is available for free.
