A forest fire broke out in 25-10-2018 in Sithonia area, 100 Km southeast from Thessaloniki in a pine forest. The village of Sarti is under threat and the relocation of its residents is under consideration as a preventative measure. According to Fire Service 142 personnel with 69 vehicles, plus 32 hand crew firefighters, plus 4 firefighting airplanes and 5 firefighting helicopters, are involved in the operation to bring the fire under control.<br>
