Complete chloroplast genome sequence of Athrotaxis cupressoides

We sequenced, assembled, and annotated the chloroplast genome of Athrotaxis cupressoides with Illumina platform. Phylogenetic analysis based on complete chloroplast genomes showed that A. cupressoides was sister to A. laxifolia with a high support, and the Athrotaxidoideae was basal to all other subfamily of Cupressaceae except the Taiwanioideae and Cunninghamioideae, which is consistent with previous research on Cupressaceae phylogeny.
