Temporal analysis of microbiota associated with lunch box during storage. food metagenome

Bacterial community structures of commercially distributed lunch box were studied by 16S rRNA sequencing analysis. For this purpose, total DNA was extracted from the homogenates of the lunch box contents except for boiled rice and pickled vegetables using Maxwell RSC blood DNA kit, which were used to amplify 16S rRNA partial gene by PCR. The amplicons were then purified, thereby being subjected to the sequencing reaction by using Ion CHEF/ Ion Torrent PGM platforms.
