Overview This feature service provides detailed spatial information on water and sewer franchise boundaries within Leon County, Florida. It includes polygon data representing designated franchise areas granted by local authorities, primarily used for delineating the service territories of various water and sewer utility providers in the region. This polygon layer depicts all water and sewer franchises granted by Leon County Board of County Commissioners as of January 2, 2007 and subsequent updates. Franchises shown have been issued to the City of Tallahassee, Talquin Water & Wastewater, Inc. and other Private utility operations. Any areas inside of Leon County that are outside of specifically granted franchises shown hereon have been granted to the City of Tallahassee as a Water and/or Sewer Franchise, as appropriate. Pursuant to the Water and Sewer Agreement between Leon County and the City of Tallahassee, franchises granted to the City may be revoked and granted to other utility providers if the criteria specified in that agreement are met. All effort is made to update this data to reflect the most current franchise areas, users should contact Leon County Public Works offices at 850-606-1500 for current information. Users of this map layer are referred to the Leon County Code of Laws, Chapter 18, Utilities.
