资源简介:
This dataset presents discontinuous monitoring of seawater physicochemical parameters (temperature, pH on the total scale (pHT), salinity, depth, and light intensity) conducted in the aquaculture environment of the European abalone (Haliotis tuberculata) from January 2023 to August 2025.
Measurements were performed at the France Haliotis aquaculture farm (48°36′44″N, 4°33′29″W; Plouguerneau, France) and in the Aber Wrac’h estuary, located in northern Brittany.
The objective of this study was to characterize diel and seasonal variability in temperature and pH across three types of aquaculture zones currently used for abalone farming: land-based nursery tanks, offshore grow-out cages, and a ranching site associated with seaweed cultivation under an Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) approach.
Abalone juveniles are first reared in land-based nursery tanks and subsequently transferred to the Aber Wrac’h estuary to complete their growth until market size. The conventional grow-out method relies on aquaculture cages, while an alternative production strategy is currently being developed through an IMTA system combining abalone ranching and kelp cultivation.
A detailed description of the instrumented aquaculture zones is provided in a supplementary file.
