Contains supplementary material and data generated in the experimental work of Treatment of waste activated sludge (WAS) by steam explosion and two staged anaerobic digestion (2021). The process is bases in alkaline steam explosion of the concentrated WAS and further treat the remaining solids by alkaline fermentation. Overall the process will transform 77% of the produced solids in 10 days retention time as compared to 65% in 30 days. The use of a flow cytometer is proposed to monitor the destruction of flocs as an alternative to the gravimetry. This material contains figures of the main equipment used: a bench scale steam explosion reactor and a lab scale UASB. It also contains a figure following the volatile fatty acid during the continuous alkaline fermentation.
