Vestfonna snow data for May 2008 (Germany)

Snow pit data: Data describe physical properties obtained from six snow pits on Nordaustlandet, Svalbard at Kinnvika research station (1), De Geerfonna (1) and Vestfonna (4). Stratigraphy, temperature, density and grain type are reported. Snow depth: Data describe snow depth sounding along two transects on De Geerfonna and the northwestern slope of Vestfonna. Depth to last summer surface is reported.
