Senate Bill (SB) 1000 requires the California Energy Commission (CEC) to assess whether electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure is disproportionately deployed by geographical area, population density, or population income level to inform EV infrastructure investments. CEC staff designated census tracts as:
Urban, Rural Center, or Rural,
Low-, Middle-, or High-income (AB 1550 definition),
and Disadvantaged or not disadvantaged (SB 535 definition)
