Molecular Characterization of Staphylococcus aureus

The data obtained from this study would give us a clearer picture of the genetic makeup of multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA and MSSA from goats in Malaysia, particularly the state of Terengganu. This would enable veterinary department management and department of agriculture administrators to better understand the extent of antibiotic resistance in S. aureus and thus develop appropriate guidelines and policies to manage and overcome the spread of this deadly pathogen in our local hospitals.
