Sample (A) was collected in the area influenced by large breeding colony of planktivorous little auks. The colony was situated on Ariekammen mountain slope and consisted of ca. 15,000 breeding pairs. Sample A was collected down the slope, at the colony edge. Lush vegetation with predominating Deschampsia alpina, Prasiola crispa, Cerastium arcticum and Chrysosplenium tetrandum covered ca. 95 % of this well-fertilized area.
