Rumen prokaryotic community sequencing

The goal of the study was to asses the direct effect of ruminal protozoa community composition on the ruminal prokaryotic community structure, composition and function. To this end , a controlled and defined experimental setup was established including different rumen protozoa sub-populations that were exposed to an identical freshly sampled rumen prokaryotic community to characterize the resulting metabolic output as well as the microbial prokaryotic community dynamics.
