Images from a Historic Building Recording Survey of St John's Church, Donisthorpe, 2023

This collection comprises of images from a Building Recording Survey of St John's Church, Donisthorpe, carried out by York Archaeology in June 2023, ahead of alterations of the church interior, including removal of the box pews, partitions (of the vestry and of the store underneath the balcony), organ and dais. The works formed part of wider archaeological intervention at the site, a later watching brief. The photographic survey focused on the recording of the internal joinery/fixtures and fittings in the nave (including under the gallery/at the rear of the nave) and chancel. The historic building recording has led to the creation of a permanent record of the church interior to be made prior to the proposed alterations.
