资源简介:
Included are data from lab experiments and surveys of common snail taxa that associate with T. testudinum seagrass from southern and western Belize, Florida (Tampa Bay), Bahamas (San Salvador), and USVI (St. Croix). Specifically, we (1) surveyed day and night densities of snails in Belize (Smooth Tegula, Stocky Cerith, Ivory Cerith, Modulus, Long-spined star snail, and Emerald Nerite), (2) surveyed number and length of snail grazing scars on seagrass blades in West and South Belize, (3) conducted a lab experiment to see which snail taxa (Smooth Tegula, Common Dove snail, Long-spined star snail, Stocky Cerith, Ivory Cerith, and Emerald Nerite) graze most on live seagrass, (4) conducted a lab experiment to see whether number of scars on seagrass blades increases with Smooth Tegula or Stocky Cerith snail density, (5) compared surveys of number of grazing scars on seagrass blades across widespread locations (Bahamas, USVI, Belize, and Florida), and (6) conducted a lab experiment to see whether fungal infection is associated with grazing induced open wounds on seagrass blades.
