Characterization of the key role of dachshund b in the development of the pancreatic islet in zebrafish (Danio rerio)

In this study, we characterized the function of dachb, the zebrafish homologue of human DACH1, in developing zebrafish embryos. Morpholino (MO) -mediated knock-down of dachb resulted in impaired islet cell development, with a significant decrease in both the ß-cell and islet cell numbers.
