​Analysis of Switched Reluctance Motor based on RMXprt, Maxwell2D and Matlab

This paper gives a performance analysis of a 4-phase, 550W, 8/6 poles, switched reluctance motor (SRM). RMXprt (analytical software) built with Maxwell 2D (finite element software) was used for the simulation and analysis of this motor. Since non-linear features of this kind of motor lead to complicating the analysis methodologies, so finite element analysis (FEA) was employed. Results of the motor such as efficiency, output power, output torque, inductance, phase current, induced voltage, and flux linkage, were determined by RMXprt. Maxwell2D software results of current and flux nkage were compared with Matlab/Simulink with an appropriate error rate.
