*Nanotrap particles are homogenous hydrogel particles of about 700–800 nm in diameter that have a shell made of polymers of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) and co-monomers such as acrylic acid (AAc), allylamine (AA) and methacrylate (MA) with cross links of N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (Bis) [37], [54]. Some of these shelled nanotrap particles are also coated with vinyl sulfonic acid (VSA) [38].
