This dataset contains the outputs from three ensembles of 10 simulations performed over the South China Sea for summer 2018 with the ocean model SYMPHONIE (see Herrmann et al. 2023). The FULL ensemble takes into account tides and rivers and is full described in Herrmann et al. 2023. NoTide and NoRiver are the same as FULL, but NoTide ensemble only takes into account rivers, and the NoRiver ensemble only take into account tides. Members are numbered from M09 to M18.
uvTS3D_201807"day".M17_"ensemble".nc.gz contains the tridimensional temperature, salinity and currents of member M17 of the "ensemble" ensemble on the day "day" of July, 2018. For example uvTS3D_20180716_M17_FULL.nc.gz provides those variables for member M17 of the FULL ensemble on the 16th of July. Those variables are provided for the 16th and 31st of July for the 3 ensembles.
The files SST_daily_JJAS_M'XX'_"ensemble".nc.gz in the directory daily_SST_JJAS contains the daily sea surface temperature for each member "MXX" of each ensemble "ensemble" between June 1st and September 30th, 2018. For exemple SST_daily_JJAS_M12_NoRiver.nc.gz contains those variables for member M12 of the NoRiver ensemble. Those variables are provided for the 10 members of the 3 ensembles.
grid.nc contains all information about the Arakawa C grid (longitude, latitude, mask, mesh size etc).
