transcriptional response of Escherichia coli O157:H7 adapted to sublethal thymol, carvacrol and trans-cinnamaldehyde

This project aims to evaluate the development of direct- and cross-resistance in E. coli O157:H7 (ATCC 35150) upon exposure to sub-lethal level of essential oil thymol, carvacrol and trans-cinnamaldehyde. Transcriptomic analysis will be performed to compare the difference in global RNA expression between non-treated (control) and treated cells, and to explain the resistance characteristics observed.
