WGS of daptomycin heteroresistant community-acquired methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus ST72 strains in South Korea

Daptomycin became available in 2021 in South Korea after it was reimbursed by the Korean National Health Insurance System. However, its clinical use was soon challenged by the emergence of resistance. This study investigated the genomic mechanisms underlying the development of daptomycin heteroresistance in community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) ST72 strains under daptomycin selective pressure.
