Attempts to stop smoking in Europe in 2020, by country

According to a survey carried out in Europe in 2020, the United Kingdom had the highest proportion of smokers who had ever tried to quit the habit, with 27 percent of smokers attempting to quit in the last 12 months, and 56 percent having had attempted to quit prior to that. Across the whole of the EU and the UK, 15 percent of smokers had attempted to give up smoking in the previous year.
