VPRS 4668 Outwards Correspondence Book,(Roads and Bridges Branch)

The Roads and Bridges Branch of the Department of Public Works (VA 669) took responsibility for main roads and bridges from 1877 until the formation of the Country Roads Board (VA 722) in 1913.This series consists of s letter-press book of outwards correspondence, mainly with regard to bridges, evidently used by individuals working within the Roads and Bridges Branch. Subjects dealt with include specifications for works, the provision of supplies and equipment for projects, lists of workers and their wages and the preparation of estimates. Most of the correspondence was internal to be forwarded to the Engineer, Roads and Bridges.
