Warming and elevated CO₂ destabilize mineral-associated organic carbon in paddy subsoils

Using a four-year field experiment, we investigated how climate change (elevated CO₂, elevated temperature, and their combination) impacts SOC sequestration and stability in a subtropical rice paddy. Our results illustrated that while topsoil SOC remained relatively stable, subsoil experienced significant SOC declines.
