Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens strain GP59 is a methylotropic, marine bacterium isolated from a denitrifying biofilm derived from a denitrification reactor. Strain GP59 can perform the complete denitrification pathway (reduction of nitrate to N2). Part of the characterization of strain GP59 is to determine the level of gene expression of all its coding sequences and to compare this to the transcriptome of Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens strain JAM1 isolated from the same biofilm.
