NRS-12718 | "Report to the Minister for Public Works on the roof structure for the Sydney Opera House"

This series comprises copies of a typescript report by Gerhard Jacob (aka Jack) Zunz of Ove Arup and Partners, Consulting Engineers, London, entitled "Report to the Minister for Public Works on the roof structure for the Sydney Opera House". It deals with the Opera House competition design, early structural solutions, wind tunnel tests, the final shape and description of the structure, structural stability, method of construction and notes on tests, investigations and researches carried out on miscellaneous aspects of the roof structure. Appendixed to the report is a list of various bodies who had been consulted or who had carried out tests on different aspects of the design of the roof, and some general data about the roof structure. Copy A contains a typescript extract from letter dated 7 July 1965 from Mr R.A. Johnson, Director of Public Works Department, to Mr Jack Zunz. Copy B bears the signature of Mr R.A. Johnson and contains a letter signed by Jack Zunz to Mr Johnson with copy of his reply, June-July 1965, and letter from Jack Zunz to Mr Johnson, July 1965. (2/8648 A-B). 2 copies.
