Dîwân-i-Waṣlî (ديوان وصلى).

The poems of Âghâ (Mirzâ or Khwâjah) Muḥammad Ṭâhir Waṣlî of Rai, the son of Khwâjah Muḥammad Sharif Hijrî (see above, No. 1440), and elder brother of Mirzâ Ghiyâthbeg I’timâd-aldaulah, the wazîr of Jahângîr and father of the famous Nûr Jahân Begam.

Ghiyâthbeg died in Rabî’ I, A.H. 1031 (A.D. 1622, Jan.-Feb.), see Blochmann, Â’în-i-Akbarî, p. 509. The exact date of Waṣlî’s death in not known, see Haft Iḳlîm, No. 1116 (col. 461 in this Cat.); Safînah, No. 191 (col. 217 in the Bodleian Cat.), and Makhzan-algharâ’îb, No. 2971 (ib., col. 391).

This collection contains:

Ghazals, rubâ’is, and fards, in alphabetical order, on fol. 61b, beginning:

خوشوقت وخندان بگذران خوشوقت و خندان صبح را

شايد كه تا صبح دگر در یافت نتوان صبح را

Tarjî’ât and some rubâ’îs, on fol. 82b, beginning:

چه كرده ام كه دگر مهر بر دهان داری

خدنگ ناز دگر باره در کمان داری

A mathnawî, styled در صفت گنجفه , ‘on the game of cards,’ on fol. 91b, beginning:

زر بدست وزير خواهد باج

چون گدائي بچرخ خود محتاج

Ḳaṣîdas, ḳiṭ’as, a few rubâ’îs, and one fard, on fol. 95a, beginning:

نزديك شد دلا كه سر آيد زمان غم

ندهد بروزگار دگر کس نشان غم

Another mathnawî, entitled, خسرو و شيرين, ‘the love-story of Khusrau and Shîrîn, ‘on fol. 101b, beginning:

الهى شيوۀ طاعت عطا كن – بنور خود دلم را آشنا كن

This poem is incomplete in consequence of a lacuna after fol. 108.

Another series of ḳaṣîdas, tarjî’s, ḳiṭ’as, ghazals, and rubâ’îs, beginning abruptly (in consequence of the same lacuna), on fol. 109a, in the middle of a ḳaṣîdah, rhyming in ى.

Dated by ‘Abd-alraḳîb, the 24th of Shawwâl, A.H. 1069 (A.D. 1659, July 15).
