Enteroendocrine cells (EECs) are specialized sensory cells of the gut-brain axis that are sparsely distributed along the intestinal epithelium. Overall design: Intestinal EECs of Ngn3-Cre;tdTom and NeuroD1-Cre;tdTom mice were isolated by Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) according to the presence or absence of tdTomato signal and analyzed using scRNAseq.
