Hypoxia-induced genes in mouse spermatogonia

Purpose: We tried to identify genes that regulate hypoxic response in mouse spermatogonial stem cells. We report the chareacterization of genes expressed under 1% oxygen. Results: We found 228 differentialy expressed genes between cells cultured under hypoxia (1% oxygen) and those under normoxia (20% oxygen). Overall design: Germline stem (GS) cells from mouse testes were established under 20% oxygen. The cells were then passaged to a new culture plates and cultured under 1% oxygen for 2 days.
