Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a progressive hair loss disorder prevalent in young adults, characterized by frontal hair follicle miniaturization and degeneration of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) driven by multifactorial pathological mechanisms. However, molecular-level insights and therapeutic strategies remain unclear. Considering the complexity of hair follicle and its niche status, single-cell transcriptomic technology enables high-resolution analysis of cellular and molecular heterogeneity between AGA-affected and healthy follicles and precise targeting of pathogenic mechanisms. Here, we collected hair follicles (HFs) from three AGA patients and made the following scRNA-seq analysis. All patients showed typical hair loss symptom of AGA in their forehead area.
