Mentalization-Supporting Therapy for Adolescents MST-A – a further development of the Strategic Adolescent Therapy SAT/SJT

The following article describes the adaptation of Mentalization Supporting Therapy MST (Sulz 2021) to adolescence - grounded by Strategic Adolescent Therapy SAT/SJT. Approaching adolescence from a developmental perspective, Mentalization Supporting Therapy MST-A, a therapy concept which combines individual and group components, first represents an attempt to adapt Strategic Behavioral Therapy SBT to this age group. In addition to symptom reduction, MST-A emphasizes effective emotion regulation and relationship building. Second it represents the adaptation of MST to adolescents.
