Enhancing Facial Emotion Recognition: A Comparative Analysis of Sobel and Laplacian Filters for Computer Vision Applications

This project explores the efficacy of integrating Sobel and Laplacian filters to enhance the performance of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models for facial emotion recognition. The project was part of our final Mtech in Data Science thesis at the Institute of Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune. The FER2013 dataset was utilized for the research.
