Acts upstream of or within response to endoplasmic reticulum stress. Located in several cellular components, including brush border; endoplasmic reticulum membrane; and microvillus. Is expressed in alimentary system; cochlea epithelium; genitourinary system; liver; and lung epithelium. Orthologous to human ANKS4B (ankyrin repeat and sterile alpha motif domain containing 4B).
