Lab 3 Week 4

On Wednesday October 1st, 2014, at 3pm, a sweep net dataset was collected on York University's campus in the grassland area. An area in the grassland was randomly selected and a 25 meter transect was placed on the ground. A person walked along the transect for two minutes and moved the sweep net in the shape of an infinity symbol within 1 metre of the transect on both sides. This was repeated ten times in a new area of the grassland each time, recording total number of insects captured and total number of unique recognizable taxonomic units.
