Pipeline Safety Regions This Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) feature layer depicts each of the five regions in the United States, Central, Eastern, Southern, Southwest, and Western, that make up PHMSA’s Office of Pipeline Safety. Per PHMSA, “Each region office is charged with ensuring the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of the nation's pipeline infrastructure.
