We show that YPR2, a transcription factor associated with the SOR cluster, has functions beyond regulation of this cluster in carbon and secondary metabolism and exerts its major function in darkness. It impacts production of secondary metabolites, particularly of Alamethicin and Orsellinic acid. Strains of this study were grown on Mandels Andreotti Minimal Medium with 1 % w/v microcrystalline cellulose as carbon source in constant light or constant darkness
