Nothapodytes nimmoniana (Graham) Mabb. (Icacinaceae) is reported to produce the highest concentration of camptothecin. The biosynthesis of CPT is only partially characterized and as yet there is no genomic and transcriptome information available for N. nimmoniana. Exclusive transcriptome dataset was generated on Illumina PE sequencing platform from the stem wood of N. nimmoniana. Putative transcripts involved in CPT biosynthesis and transport were identified based on transcript annotation. This study provides insights into the biosynthesis and transport of CPT in N.nimmoniana.
