The goal was to annotate the genomes of four different Plethodon salamander species from two different clades to explore differences in diversity of transposable element content of large genomes. This was done by using Oxford Nanopore MinION sequencing on each species and quantifying the transposable element content of each genome, and then calculating diversity indices to determine relevant differences.
