Role of ASR (Abscisic Acid/Stress/Ripening) proteins in iron and phosphate homeostasis in rice

In this project we aimed at understanding how silencing of ASR proteins affects rice root responses to iron and phosphate deficiencies. We grew wild type (cv Nipponbare) and OsASR5-RNAi (silenced for ASR proteins) plants in hydroponics up until V4 stage (four fully expanded leaves) and exposed plants to iron and phosphate deficiency in (as well as control with full complete nutrient solution). We collected root samples after five days of treatment.
