Optimising the early detection and management of

This thesis examined how to better identify and manage thinking problems after stroke, which are common, but can be difficult to detect. Barriers and facilitators to applying best practice recommendations to detect and manage thinking problems were investigated, highlighting the need to consider different approaches for different settings. The accuracy of commonly used tools designed to detect thinking problems after stroke were evaluated. Findings reveal that we have yet to find a perfect way to identify thinking problems after stroke. This work sets a foundation of knowledge that can be used to design and implement interventions that improve care.
