This dataset comprises pictures of growth of <i>Chromobacterium violaceum</i> ATCC 12472 on LB agar at 30 <sup>o</sup>C. Round colonies with purple colouration were observed along the streak lines. Secretion of violacein antibiotic during stationary phase likely resulted in the purple colouration of the colonies.
