Survey Results on Tea Farming in Rize

Our research initially aimed to explore the evolving dynamics of tea cultivation in Rize, focusing on how tea farming has adapted to changing policies and economic pressures. Between 2017 and 2018, we conducted multiple rounds of surveys and interviews with petty commodity producers, private tea factory owners, and officials from ÇAYKUR. In 2024, we carried out follow-up fieldwork to gain deeper insights into the gender dynamics of tea cultivation, which included a series of interviews. The data file provided here includes the survey data collected during the earlier phase of the research.The study adhered to ethical standards and was approved by the Ethics Committee of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, approval number 2018/15 and 2024/334. All participants provided written informed consent, having been informed about the study's purpose, procedures, their right to withdraw without consequences, and the confidentiality of their data, ensuring full understanding of their rights and participation scope.
