Result of Monitoring The Quality of Leachate in The Landfill Sumompo by The City Environmental Department Manado 2024

This internship report describes the results of leachate quality monitoring at the Sumompo Final Processing Site (TPA Sumompo) conducted by the Environmental Agency of Manado City in 2024. Leachate samples taken from the inlet and outlet of the treatment system were analyzed for pH, TSS, BOD₅, COD, Total Nitrogen, Mercury, and Cadmium, with all parameters found to be below the limits set by Permen LHK No. 59/2016. The results also showed reductions in pollutant concentrations after treatment, indicating that the leachate processing system is functioning effectively, although COD and Total Nitrogen levels—despite meeting standards—remain relatively high and require further optimization. Overall, the internship provided practical experience in environmental monitoring and demonstrated that leachate management at TPA Sumompo remains compliant with environmental quality regulations.
