Evaluating mtDNA and nDNA variants in isolated non-syndromic pediatric cardimyopathy patients from Turkey

We aimed to determine the genetic profile of pediatric cardiomyopathy patients by examining them in a very large clinic genetic panel through next-generation sequencing. Moreover, considering the pathways associated with energy metabolism and bioenergetics in which mitochondrial proteins play important roles regarding myocardium and heart itself, we also aimed at evaluating patients in the primary cardiomyopathy group and those suspected to be in this group with respect to mtDNA.
